Point barracuda spam filter 300 outside firewall so users can access quarantine?

I'm about to call barracuda support but figured I would ask here first. They can only help so much.

I have a barracuda spam filter. set up firewall to forward internal ip to public ip. Still cant access the quarantine unless I am inside the network. Shouldn't this work with people outside the network as long as I do the forwarding? Also made sure it was over port 8000 as thats the default.

Any suggestions? I have done plenty of port forwards to static public ip's so I am about to pull out my hair :-)
