We are currently running a barracuda web filter 310, however we are having an issue with it. Almost on a daily basis our users are losing internet connectivity and we are having to restart the web filter. We contacted Barracuda support and it seems we are getting nearly 2,500 tcp hits a day... the 310 seems to allow 800 before we have problems.
Now I know it's highly likely our only fix is to purchase a 410 or maybe even a 510, but we need to put it through as a business case, get the quotes e.c.t, it all takes a while in this place, also our IT manager is away until the new year and he is the only person in our department who can request purchases.
So, my question is, is there any way we can give it a bit of extra juice until we can arrange a replacement, such as a firmware update? we want to try and keep our users as happy as possible.
